MAC Cosmetics Meets Star Trek in This Face of the Day - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Guest blogging from Argentina, MBB reader Marcela shares her take on a Star Expedition inspired confront of the day using some of her favorite products from MAC Cosmetics.
Hi, everyone!
My proper name is Marcela. I'm no trekkie, having never watched any movies starting time with "Star" (Star Wars, anyone?), merely hey, there are a couple (or a lot) of y'all out there who DO like sci-fi movies, so this FOTD is for you.
Now, this wait is a sultry and dark, smoky black and golden center — maybe a scrap over the top, only you can tone it downward (or switch information technology up!).
I don't know why, simply I didn't line my bottom lash line with black. I'1000 sure that would have given the look a fleck more than va va voom!
The long winged liner was inspired past Spock's upturned eyebrows, and the colors by — expect for information technology — a starry nighttime!
Very original indeed… 🙂
Anyway, I liked how it turned out. I hope you practice, likewise.
Here are the products I used:
Face
Foundation: La Roche Posay Toleraine (practical with a sponge wedge)
Powder: MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Medium Nighttime (applied all over)
Chroma: A shimmery golden bronze blush
Contour: MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Dark
Highlight: The shimmery side of the MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Duo in Nighttime
Optics
Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Eyelid base: Any black cream shadow (practical to the outer two/3 of the lid)
Eyelid inner corner: A mix of MAC Eye Shadow in Sumptuous Olive and MAC Flip (or any other brilliant golden shadow)
Eyelid: MAC Solar $.25 in Blackness Ore (applied with MAC Mixing Medium over a black cream shadow)
Crease: MAC Centre Shadow in Carbon
Brow Highlight: MAC Middle Shadow in Modest Tone

Lips
Lipstick: A flesh-tone lipstick like MAC Lipstick in Myth
Lipgloss: The peachy bronze gloss from Tarte's Handbag Your Lips Clutch applied under MAC Lipglass in Pink Grapefruit
End: A dab of a great gold pigment in the centre of the bottom lip
Notes
I really have to apologize for a couple things…
Start of all, the quality of the pics. I just couldn't capture the gold sparkles, and lord knows I tried. Second, I'thousand distressing about using and so many limited edition items! I usually splurge on limited editions that I don't want to miss, but then I don't have anything left over to get permanent collection items, LOL! Am I the merely i who does that?
For dupes, if you lot don't accept MAC Solar Bits, I suggest using a black foam shadow with gold sparkles, like Stila's 24K Smudge Pot or MAC Fluidline in Blitz & Glitz (catch Karen's mail about these two!), or simply any blackness shadow with some gold glitter on top (make sure it'due south middle safe!).
The MAC Heart Shadow in Small Tone came out with the MAC Due north collection last year, and I used it because it'southward like to my skin tone and not too sparkly. I wanted a neutral colour on my brow bone to go along the focus on the sparkly lid.
Instead of MAC Solar White, you could use any white or lite gold shadow, and MAC Lipglass in Pink Grapefruit could be replaced with Lychee Luxe, or any other coral gloss.
Something else I'd like to share is a tip I discovered while doing my makeup.
Well, it's not much of a tip, merely I'd never, *ever* thought of information technology before. You lot know how it's a bit of a struggle to put mascara on your lesser lashes? Well, for some reason I used a sample tube, and information technology worked great! Since the wand is smaller, it's easier to coat every teensy lash, and the best part is that you don't have to pay big bucks for samples, right?
So, at that place you have it, my Star Trek inspired FOTD. 🙂
Have y'all ever washed a await inspired past a movie before? Please permit me know in the comments!
Live long and prosper!
